SHORT BIOG
Georgia Wonder are Stephanie Grant (vocals) and Julian Moore (music) and come from the UK. They have self-released two EPs, 2008's '
Hello Stranger' and 2009's '
Destroy'.
They are currently working on a third release under the
Made In Nevada project, where they are recording everything in the
Nevada Music store. The second release from the project, '
Siren' enjoyed unprecedented exposure over four weeks on
We7.com and was Pop Justice
Song Of The Day.
Georgia Wonder's 2009 EP release '
Destroy' was pressed and printed entirely from fan donations, and it's title track was Record Of The Day on the music industry tipsheet of the same name who called it 'another belter - a brilliantly overwrought, theatrical show-stopper of a song'.
Their song 'Girl You Never Knew' taken from their 2008 release '
Hello Stranger' had also previously won this accolade, with Record Of The Day and also Record Of The Week, was the Pop Justice
Song Of The Day in August, and was aired on
Bliss TV for over three months.
Initilly picked up by the legendary 'whispering' Bob Harris who played their demo's twice in two weeks on his BBC Radio Two saturday night show, Georgia Wonder supported Simply Red's Mick Huckanll on a sell out 7 date UK tour culminating with two dates at London's Ingig02 at the dome. They were warmly received by Simply Red fans both through the Simply Red forums and the gigs themselves, at which they won new admirers and signed an awful lot of CDs.
They also played for the Independence Day celebrations at the US Ambassadors house in Regents Park, London a few months after impressing the audience at the London American Embassy on THAT historic Obama election night, and also became the 14th most downloaded band
in the world for a week in 2009.
