1. The title track 'Destroy' started off as an acoustic guitar number. For at least a year we did it without the middle bit because we thought it was too harsh. When we put the orchestral backing together it got put back in and now it's one of our favourite bits. This is the one song we do live where girls laugh nervously when we sing the 'Kick your face into the ground' bit while their boyfriends shuffle on their seats.
2. In 'Two Weeks To Live' the main character is Mr Macaloon. This is a reference to Paddy Macaloon from Prefab Sprout, who has written the occasional long-winded and verbose song before - just like this song. So it's part nod, part personal mockery for being so 'wordy'.
3. 'Genius' started life as a bit of a happy clappy song, and has been through more revisions than any other song in the history of Georgia Wonder. It was originally about the fantasy of lusting after someone in your mind, but only in the last few months were the verses ripped out and replaced with a different sentiment entirely. The originals were extremely uptempo and we were getting fed up with it, and that's why we have the slightly more laid back groove we have today.
4. 'Cool Again' used to be only about 2 minutes long but we were convinced to extend it by our long suffering mix dude Jay Burnett. Jay worked on a song you might have heard of called 'Planet Rock'. It was quite influential.
5. 'Love About You' is actually about learning to love yourself. Start now, you can thank yourself later.
6. We raised money to make the CD pressings entirely from fans in just over two days thanks to Twitter, Facebook and our mailing list. But to be honest, Twitter was the clincher.
7. The heart for the front cover took our art bloke Andy Hill a whole afternoon scouring really embarrassing shops for. It's a real cushion and is about as tacky as it gets. Even more tacky is that there's a revoltingly cute cuddly bear on the other side which luckily we haven't seen but we have been assured it's 'revolting'.
8. By a completely random set of circumstances a photographer called Rankin is showcasing his new art book 'Destroy' at almost exactly the same time as our own 'Destroy' EP is coming out. It's for the Youth Music charity's 10th anniversary and you should go do a search for 'Destroy Rankin' and lend your support to this worthwhile cause.
9. Our aim was to get an EP out three times a year. Our last EP 'Hello Stranger' came out in June 2008. There goes that idea.
10. 'Destroy's first appearance anywhere was on the We7 website on 15th October 2009.
